Appetite 2013

A Food and Drink Festival for Waltham Forest

We are seeking expressions of interest from locally based individuals and businesses involved in food and drink. From places to eat, markets, pop up restaurants, and food producers to food growers, community projects, chefs, artists and writers - we want to hear from you!

Why have a food and drink festival?

Appetite has developed in response to the growing number of artists demonstrating food as an art form during the E17 Art Trail, an annual arts festival in Walthamstow. Many restaurants, cafes and pubs have been host to creative events over the eight years of the E17 Art Trail. We'd like to place a spotlight on the incredible spectrum of food and drink that we have on offer in Waltham Forest. With this new venture we'd like to continue celebrating where we live, create further opportunities for local enterprises and frankly, enjoy great nights out right on our doorstep!

How can I get involved?

Appetite will take place during the month of June 2013 across the whole of Waltham Forest. Proposed events must of course be food or drink related, take place within this time-frame and be hosted in this location. What you propose to do however, is completely open to your imagination!

We don't want to give too much away yet but some fantastic and diverse projects are already brewing ...

Who will manage and promote the event?

Appetite will be managed by the Artillery team, responsible for delivering the E17 Art Trail, along with its partner food and ctreative marketing agency To Market and in collaboration with gourmet food fair and events organiser Auntie Maureen. We will create the festival programme and associated publicity and marketing. The expression of interest stage is to get an indication of the scope and budget for the festival which will inform the marketing and publicity strategy. Appetite will be funded by fees for event listings with a range of price bands and sponsorship opportunities.

We aim to produce a printed programme packed with exciting events, local food related stories and beautiful artwork and photography in a newspaper format. There will also be a website, social media promotion, posters, flyers and banners and possibly an event booking system. There is a lot of potential for the festival and we've had an amazing response at this early stage. We will shortly announce further details including how to list and promote your events in the programme and launch the festival to the public officially on 1st April.

Sounds great!
