Words over Waltham Forest

Go Back
October 26th to November 17th 2013

For three weeks this Autumn, Waltham Forest will be alive with words.

Created with Admarket's flickrSLiDR.

Words over Waltham Forest will host language and literary inspired events - on the street, in libraries, cafes, bookshops, pubs and galleries. The festival will encourage people to get writing and reading. Local authors, artists and community groups will bring life to all forms of communication and expression at spoken word events, workshops, exhibitions, readings through the language of words, poetry, theatre, dance, art and song.

The festival is a collaboration between Artillery, Waltham Forest Libraries, Waltham Forest Arts in Education Network, LDX (formerly MENCAP) and Apex Arts. We have developed a packed programme of events to surprise, enchant and delight you. The programme has been developed through the vision and creativity of the many creative groups, authors, artists, poets and performers already working in the Borough. You will also have the opportunity to meet and listen to authors and poets you'll be familiar with.
