As part of a free weekend programme of music, theatre, dance, arts, crafts and food, Artillery was invited to curate the moated island in Lloyd Park for the Walthamstow Garden Party produced by Create and Barbican. Our programme was a feast of storytelling and local produce.
Waltham Forest's first Urban Food Growing Festival - Artillery were commissioned by Waltham Forest Council to develop and deliver Cultivate Festival in March 2014 and 2015, and in March AND September 2016 together with partners OrganicLea, Capital Growth and To Market. A conference and programme of 50 events delivered by partners and fringe festival organisers to celebrate and share food growing from plot to plate. www.cultivatewf.org
Appetite Festival is a development of the Artillery festival model that showcases food and art in specific localities. We piloted the festival in Waltham Forest, June 2013 and Nunhead September 2013. We presented a slice of Appetite in the 2014 E17 Art Trail and Walthamstow Garden Party. See the festival website for more details: www.appetitefestival.co.uk
Words over Waltham Forest
For three weeks in Autumn 2013, Waltham Forest was alive with words. Words over Waltham Forest hosted language and literary inspired events - on the street, in libraries, cafes, bookshops, pubs and galleries. www.wordsoverwalthamforest.co.uk
E17 Art Trail from 2005-2015
In 2014 we celebrated 10 years of the E17 Art Trail. It has been quite an adventure for both organisers and artists who over this time have witnessed a dramatic change in the local arts scene. Walthamstow now enjoys an amazing range of creative spaces and resources on it's doorstep from workshops to studios and exciting new projects are in development including much needed performance spaces.
