About the event

Join us to help restore your broken hard material toys - such as plastic and wood. Play It Again Toys will help you invent new modifications for your toys to bring them to life again. Is your dragon missing a tail? Has your transporter got a broken ramp?

Isobel with her Play It Again Repair Kit, will help you find and add new components to repair and replace missing parts of your damaged toys. Please bring remember to bring a broken toy with you if you want to find a way to fix it! Please note we do not accept broken electrical toys.  This is a drop in repair opportunity. Each family will have 10minutes consulting and designing time with Isobel. Isobel will have a mix of materials and objects to choose from for your repair. Her Play It Again assistant will use your toy repair design to repair it whilst you visit the library. Each family will be seen on a first come, first served basis. Play It Again Repairs will start at 1pm, last repair at 3pm.

Our workshop will be run by Isobel, a full time puppet and prop maker who is really interested in play and sustainable materials. After completing the Toy Invention Program at Kingston University it expanded her understanding in play and the sustainability of toys. As a resident of Waltham Forest, she is really inspired by the cultural heritage of the Toy Industry that was once in Blackhorse Road and wants to bring more awareness of toy repair back to the community. She'll be promoting the reuse of toys by fixing or modifying them to continue their life span and help families to do this in a creative way.
